You might not have thought of this, but you need to decide. Choices available are IN and EC, because for Electronics and Instrumentation students the other option EC is valid, as it has only some difference in terms of GATE syllabus. But its obvious that you can choose any other GATE paper also (But only ONE).
Below given is the comparison between the two, which helps you choose better.
The figure are just tentative and are meant to guide you.I assume that from above fact file it would be easier for you guys to choose your main stream for GATE and prepare accordingly.
Best of Luck.!!

Really good content
ReplyDeleteGiven the fact seat-to-student ratio is significantly higher for Instrumentation, how is EC a preferred choice for M.Tech? This is from the point of view of an individual interested ONLY in M.Tech, and not PSU. Is the number of IN students called for M.Tech interviews significantly higher compared to EC (proportionally, of course)?
ReplyDeleteFrom where the fact comes that the seat-to-student ratio is higher.
DeleteSee it this Way
M.Tech-->IITs-->Good GATE Score--> Good Absolute Marks-->Difficult in Instrumentation/Easier in EC.
PSU-->Good AIR Rank-->Easier in Instrumentation/ Difficult in EC.
hope this makes you clear.
I have scored AIR 81 Cat- OBC Branch- Instrumentation in GATE 2015.
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance of getting PSU calls.
What were the total no of seats in different PSU for instrumentation.
@ Vikas I suppose you have a chance at this rank for more detailed and excat cutoff refer to www.engistan.com
